Po długich bojach, protestach, konsultacjach i końcowym kompromisie, Parlament Europejski uchwalił dziś Pakiet Telekomunikacyjny, regulujący prawo związane z sieciami komórkowymi i internetem w Europie.
W ostatecznej wersji dokumentu, nie znalazła się poprawka 138, nakazująca operatorom odcinania od sieci internautów bez wyroku sądowego, przez którą pakiet został odrzucony w maju. Zamiast niej pojawił się paragraf mówiący o „niezależnym postępowaniu”, do jakiego mają mieć prawo internauci w takich przypadkach (co niekoniecznie oznacza od razu postępowania sądowego) i ogólnej zgodności działań z Europejską Konwencją Praw Człowieka (co jest już oczywistą oczywistością).
Nie znalazły się też w pakiecie (wbrew temu co pisze IDG) żadne zapewnienia dotyczące problemu neutralności sieci i możliwości filtrowania Internetu w Unii Europejskiej. W tym przypadku więc nic się nie zmienia i firmy ISP oraz rządy krajów członkowskich nadal będą mogły bez problemu wprowadzać tego typu cenzurę.
Na temat pakietu wypowiedział się przewodniczący parlamentu, eurodeputowany Jerzy Buzek:
Jestem uradowany faktem, że przyczyniliśmy się do wzmocnienia praw użytkowników elektronicznej komunikacji oraz internetu.

Oczywiście wyłącznie przez internet – nie starczy "im" odwagi cywilnej, by wyjść na ulicę i przeprowadzić demonstrację albo chociaż iść pogadać z lokalnymi politykami (maile mogą sobie słać, i tak lecą do kosza). Taka moda, tak samo jak wylewanie błota na PO i pochwała np. PiS-u przez te same osoby, które za poprzedniej kadencji wieszały koty na partii z orzełkiem w logo, a także nierzadko same na PO głosowały.
