Tak samo, jak w latach poprzednich, tak i w tym roku Haiku zachęca do dołączenia do projektu w ramach programu Google Summer of Code.
Google Summer of Code to program organizowany przez firmę Google polegający na zachęcaniu studentów do brania udziału w rozwoju projektów Open Source poprzez oferowanie im stypendiów za tego typu pracę. Osoby, które wywiążą się z powierzonego im zadania, mogą otrzymać aż pięć tysięcy dolarów.
Studenci mogą zgłaszać się do programu od 29 marca do 9 kwietnia na oficjalnej stronie Google Summer of Code. Więcej na ten temat zgłoszeń do współpracy przy projekcie Haiku w ramach GSoC można uzyskać na stronie projektu.
Również na stronie Haiku można otrzymać informacje na temat tego, czym można zajmować się w ramach projektu. Jedną z takich rzeczy jest rozwój natywnej przeglądarki tego systemu operacyjnego, jaką jest WebPositive, poprawienie wydajności i jakości sterowników innych od BFS systemów plików czy też stworzenie frameworka stosu sieciowego w C++ z prawdziwego zdarzenia.

Tak czepianie się dwóch liter niema sensu bo to wygląda jakby komuś odbiło i zaczął gadać o oknach.
Haiku. A skoro czepianie się dwóch liter nie ma sensu to przestań je dopisywać do nazwy systemu. Dodatkowo przestań latać po szkole czy znajomych i plusować swoje wypowiedzi a minusować innych bo to także nie ma sensu.
Daruj sobie bezpodstawne oskarżenia. Ludzie najpierw zminusowali mnie, plusując Alexa, a potem to ja dostałem serię plusów, a on serię minusów. Założę się, że plusy dostałem od ludzi, którzy być może nawet byliby skłonni system Haiku nazywać zgodnie z twoją wolą "Haiku", ale denerwuje ich twoje natrętne poprawianie wszędzie i wszystkich, że broń boże nie wolno napisać "Haiku OS". Ja będę pisał Haiku OS, Windows OS, a w sklepie chcąc kupić chleb, poproszę o Fnord. Nic ci do tego.
Ujmę to tak: nie ma tutaj żadnej mojej woli, tylko tak nazwali system jego twórcy, niektórym najwyraźniej ciężko to zrozumieć i tłumaczą się tym, że Haiku to też poezja, Windows to też okna a jakoś nikomu nie przychodzi do głowy nazywać systemu WindowsOS – dziwne nie? Jeśli będziesz tak pisał na swoim podrzędnym blogu – bo zawierającym nieprawdziwe treści – może i nic mi do tego, ale na forum publicznym, kiedy przekłamywana jest nazwa to już bardzo dużo mi do tego wbrew temu co ci się wydaje.
Natomiast jak z 10 plusów wychodzi 10 minusów lub na odwrót, to trzeba mieć niski iloraz inteligencji, żeby wszystkich traktować jak idiotów, że się nie domyślą. A tłumaczenie tego z kolejnych kont jest równie żałosne. Nie istnieje taki system jak HaikuOS, więc pisząc takie rzeczy piszesz o czymś czego nie ma – może o podrodzaju japońskiej poezji, nie wiem… I tyle w tym temacie.

Ja wiem że następca BeOS nosi nazwę Haiku ale ta nazwa istniała wcześniej dla czegoś innego a tak woli ścisłości to prawidłowo powinno być Microsoft Windows a nie sam Windows.
Niektóre rzeczy po prostu żyją własnym życiem.
Dodam jeszcze jedno że te dwie głupie litery o które się tak sprzeczamy mogą pomóc niż zaszkodzić.
Łatwiej i szybciej można będzie znaleźć potrzebne informacje na temat tego systemu. Oczywiście raczej nie widzi mi się wymawiać HaikuOS a tylko po prostu Haiku.

A Windows 3.11 choćby… Nie dość, że jest taki system to i cała rodzina tych systemów ale skoro uważasz, że nie ma systemu Windows, to w zasadzie nie ma z kim dyskutować na ten temat.

Tyle w temacie, że niektórzy nie potrafią nic więcej zrobić niż pisanie nazwy systemu i to jeszcze błędnie.

Chcesz powiedzieć, że znasz wszystkie istniejące systemy operacyjne, nawet takie które ktoś w tym momencie sobie wymyśla? Przecież zgodnie z liberalną licencją na jakiej wydawany jest Haiku pozwala na przykład na modyfikowanie. Można więc sobie zmodyfikować nazwę i już istnieje HaikuOS.
