Średnimi kroczkami zbliża się przełomowa trójka, a już dzisiaj możemy testować OpenOffice.org 2.4 RC2! Do piętnastu godzin ma trwać synchronizacja serwerów, po czym będzie można pobrać OO.o w polskiej wersji językowej.
Przypomnę, że jest to pierwsze wydanie, którego cykl tworzenia wynosił 6 miesięcy. W najnowszym wydaniu znajdziemy kilka długo wyczekiwanych funkcji i całkiem sporo mniejszych usprawnień.
Z ogólnych zmian, które zostały wprowadzone w tej wersji należy przede wszystkim wymienić przyśpieszone ładowanie się pakietu i poprawę szybkości jego działania. Wzbogacono i usprawniono opcję eksportu do formatu PDF, m.in o możliwość osadzania odnośników względnych wewnątrz dokumentu. Można również tworzyć zaszyfrowane, długoterminowo ważne archiwa w formacie PDF/A. Pakiet wzbogacił się o moduł automatycznej aktualizacji rozszerzeń, a deweloperom rozszerzeń umożliwiono tworzenie plików pomocy. OpenOffice.org pod MacOS X jest zintegrowany z książką adresową, QuickTimem oraz z systemowym słownikiem.

Przy okazji informuję że jest już od dłuższego czasu w repozytorium Debiana sid.
Mogę jakoś dodać to repozytorium do Ubuntu 7.04, zainstalować tą wersję i potem usunąć to repo?
Najlepiej i najbezpieczniej będzie skompilować samemu.
Nie no, nie chce mi się kompilować takiego pakietu. Możesz podać mi to repozytorium zawierające ten pakiet? Spróbuję zainstalować z tego repo;)
Przecież Ci powiedział "Debian Sid". Wejdź na stronę Debiana i znajdź adres do repo sida, przecież googlacz nie gryzie
OO już się od wersji 2.3.1 znacznie szybciej uruchamia – nie wiem skąd wciąż te narzekania

Hmmm. Tak się składa że codziennie słyszę inne opinie.
Faktem jest że Office ma dużo różnych funkcji, których nie ma OO, jednak jest pytanie czy są one potrzebne ?
Skoro i tak większość ludzi wykorzystuje 2% możliwości pakietu. Pakiet biurowy powinien spełniać funkcje pakietu biurowego, wodotryski są nie potrzebne.
Ale z tym szybkim uruchamianiem to jestem w szoku. Zawsze OO uchodził w moich oczach za krowę na którą trzeba czekać i czekać a teraz to istna "raketa"
Pierwsze uruchomienie nie jest jakos wyraznie szybsze (jest szybciej, ale gora 2 razy, tak na oko).
Natomiast potem kolejne uruchomienia (po zamknieciu) to max ze 2 sekundy
i to juz jest DUZO szybciej niz przed zmiana, gdzie tuz po zamknieciu uruchamial sie niewiele szybciej niz za pierwszym razem.
A kiedy doczekamy się obsługi czcionek Open Type w OpenOffice.org pod Linuksem? To dla mnie ważniejsze niż pierdoły typu 10s szybsze uruchamianie się pakietu…
A to dobre – pierdoły. Programy biurowe uruchamimy i zamykamy raz po raz (przynajmniej takie jest moje doświadczenie z MS Office'm). Dlatego szybkość uruchamiania, a potem działania ma podstawowe (!) znaczenie.
Mam głęboko w tyle szybkość uruchamiania: co mi po natychmiast uruchamiającym się Writerze, jak nie mogę w nim używać przyzwoitych fontów?… A współcześnie prawie wszystkie przyzwoite=OpenType… Szybkość uruchamiania ma zupełnie drugorzędne znaczenie, obsługa fontów pierwszorzędne! Jak piszę artykuł czy książkę, to uruchamiam procesor tekstu raz na kilka godzin, a nie raz po raz…
Ja nie mówię, że OO nie powinien obsługiwać OT Fonts (inna sprawa, że wydaje mi się to znacznie mniej istotne od szybkości; może to dlatego że wystarczą mi MS Fonty TTF). Dla mnie przede wszystkim istotna jest szybkość pracy (Calc jest tragiczny w porównaniu do Excela) i uruchamiania.
Nie wszyscy pisza w pakietach biurowych ksiazki, a wrecz mniejszosc.
Wiekszosc uzytkownikow uruchamia takie programy kilkanascie-kilkadziesiat razy w ciagu dnia.
nie mniej jednak 'pakiet biurowy' ma przede wszystkim zapewniać funkcjonalność – co mi po fakcie, że notatnik uruchamia się błyskawicznie?

Ale zdarza się że z jakiegoś powodu wyłączysz OO a potem jest znowu potrzebny.
Swoją drogą, nigdy nie widziałem żeby MS Office wstawał szybciej niż obecny OpenOffice (pomijając fakt że dawno nie widziałem MS O. na oczy…).
No ja jeszcze nowego nie używałem. Tak czy siak odnosimy się do stanu sprzed 2.4RC2. Co do włączania i wyłączania Office'a, to chyba w każdej pracy polegającej na tworzeniu lub czytaniu dokumentów, program ciągle się włącza i wyłącza.
Chłam, chłam, chłam, zajmują się jakimiś bzdurami zamiast poważnie przerobić GUI. Niektóre funkcje to chyba neandertalczyk projektował jeszcze.
A może trochę konkretów ?
Co dokładnie Ci sie nie podoba ?
I czy zgłosiłeś to do developerów ?
Nie wiem do czego porównujesz, mi na przykład bardziej przypada do gustu Interfejs OO niż nowych Off. Ogólnie to interfejs Off zamiast pomagać to przeszkadza wiec tak samo mogę powiedzieć "Chłam, chłam, chłam"
Ale co konkretnie chciałbyś zgłość deweloperom? Żeby zorganizowali konkurs na przeprojektowanie interfejsu (jak to zrobili z KOffice2), lub zatrudnili jakiegoś specjalistę?
Więc chyba sam go chyba dłużej nie używałeś. Na co dzień korzystam z OpenOffice'a, kiedyś jednak potrzebowałem skorzystać z MS Office, a tak się składało że miałem pod ręką jego triala. Z początku rzeczywiście jest się trudno przestawić, ale potem wszystko robi się już znacznie szybciej (ogólnie ten cały Ribbon strasznie przypomina mi Blendera…)
porównanie do Blendera jest dość, powiedziałbym, karkołomne; sporo jeszcze MOffice-owi brakuje do jego wygody
ale może doczekamy, że pakiety biurowe będą w opengl / directx i będzie można mówić o małej rewolucji
Nie chodzi mi o całego MS Offica 2007 tylko o sam ribbon, że jest podobny to interfejsu Blendera (jego zawartość także dostosowuje się do tego co aktualnie robimy i jest dość przejrzyście rozmieszczona, no ale fakt nie tak konfigruowalna jak w Blenderze)
Faktycznie, kilka liftingow interfejsu by sie przydalo. Moze nie az tak drastycznie, jak to zrobil MS w wersji 2007, ale zawsze. Czesto sie zdaza, ze cos jest nie tam gdzie byc powinno i w cale nie mam na mysli, ze nie jest tam, gdzie jest w MSie.

Szkoda, że się z tego wycofali, w 1.X było. Jest coś takiego jak OpenClipart – fajnie to się komponowało z OOo.
To zgłoszenie ma najwięcej głosów, więc skąd pomysł, że się z niego wycofano?. Są po prostu ważniejsze sprawy. Import SVG ma oznaczenie "OOo later" czyli może być w OO.o 3.1 lub nawet w 10.6.
